Natural Hair Dye with Henna and Indigo

Its really hard to cover grey hair. Combination of white and black hair makes you look more old than you are. Hair dyes with chemicals are not good to health and they make other black hair turn white.
I have tried the combination of Henna and Indigo. It worked ...My hair turned to natural black.
Follow below steps to achieve this...

For the black Color:

  • First mix henna with tea decotion or beetroot juice and let it sit for overnight until the dye is released. Mix an Egg to henna before applying. Now apply this mixture to hair and stay for 3-4 hours.
  • Wash off the henna with mild shampoo.Your gray hair turn to orange color.
  • After 2 -3 hours gap, or the next day mix indigo with warm water and let it stay for 10 mins until and shiny blue black layer is formed on the content. Now apply this through roots to hair.
  • Stay for 1-2 hours for black effect.
  • Wash off the indigo with cold water.Do not shampoo the hair,as it loses the effect.
  • Within 1-2 days you can find the orange ,Red shaded hair turns to black.

For the Brown Color:

  • Mix Henna powder and let it sit overnight until dye is released.
  • The next day morning mix indigo with warm water and let it stay for 10 mins separately.
  • After 10 mins mix the indigo mixture with henna and apply it on hair from roots to the end.
  • Let it stay for 2-3 hrs or more if you are ok with it.
  • Wash off your hair with luke warm water and do not shampoo till 2 days.Otherwise use conditioner to rinse off the indigo.
Note:

  • Do not use indigo alone to dye your gray hair. your hair will have may turn to purple blue if you do so. If this is not a color that you want, then using henna first and then indigo will give you the black shade you desire.
  • You can't preserve indigo after mixing as henna. It loses its properties. So it has to be used as soon as mixed.
I have used Anoo's henna and indigo pack. it worked fine for me.
